The final few weeks of the season - a message from our secretary.

Please see the following sent by our secretary, Mark Davidson.

An exciting and busy few weeks ahead, but we need club members to get involved.

Afternoon All

As we head into the final month of the playing season, I would like to highlight one or two dates for the diary.

On MONDAY 27TH AUGUST we are holding the annual club 6-a-side festival. Christophe Vever has kindly offered to arrange the format of the day and if you wish to enter a side please contact him with some urgency. As in previous years, this will be an excellent family-fun day so please do come along and enjoy the event, even if you are not playing.

The committee are delighted that Edenside will once again play host to a 3 day MCCA Unicorns East Division Championship Match between Cumberland CCC and Lincolnshire CCC from SUNDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER to TUESDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER. Play will commence at 10.30am on all three days.

If you are able to help us on any of those dates then please let me know. There are plenty of tasks both in the clubhouse and on the ground. Many thanks in advance.

The final league game at Edenside takes place on SATURDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER when the 1st XI host Workington at 1pm. On this date we are holding another CCC GIN FESTIVAL from early afternoon and the CLUB PRESENTATIONS will follow close of play in the pavilion.

As most of you will be aware, Olly Bradley led our 2nd XI to success last Sunday in bringing home the EVCL Senior Cup. This is an outstanding achievement and on your behalf I send congratulations to Olly and his side.

There is much still to be played for – our 2nd XI are top of the EVCL Premier Division and the 1st XI are still in the hunt for the North Lancs Premier League title. Both had fine wins yesterday and both Marc and Olly are looking to maximise performances in the closing weeks of the season.

The 3rdXI will be looking to go unbeaten in their final league games to maintain status in EVCL Division One while Anthony Wilson and the Academy XI currently lead the EVCL Sunday League.

Please get along to Edenside to enjoy the final month of the 2018 season.
