TST_7819 Skipper Marc Brown finished 43 not out in 7-wicket win at Lindal

Carlisle kept the pressure on early leaders, Furness with a comfortable, seven-wicket win at Lindal Moor.

Early wickets for seamers Mike Slack and Phil Frazer had the home side reeling on 13-4 and then 37-5 after Carlisle skipper Marc Brown won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Janith de Silva, Jack Cumberbatch and Chris Scrogham rallied, but the innings fell away to finish on a disappointing 114.

Although Ben Davidson, returning to the side after his county hockey exertions, fell without scoring, Carlisle navigated their untroubled path to a small total.

Slack, with 35, led the way, while skipper Brown and Alex Raybould ensured the ten points with an unbroken partnership.

It means Carlisle, on 44 points, remain six points behind table-toppers Furness, but have widened the gap to surprise package Dalton in third and Workington, who were beaten by Furness, in fourth.
